Spring type check valve prevents back-flow and protects the network and the pump from the pressure surge caused by the shutdown of the pump.
It is installed on the pump discharge or wherever it is considered to be necessary. The valve opens when the upstream pressure presses the spring by forcing the sealing disc to move upwards.
When there is no flow, the valve closes immediately, preventing the back-flow and as a result it minimizes the water hammer on the pump. The installation of the spring type valve is recommended for high-pressure networks, because of its exceptional endurance.
For ultimate protection of the network, an anti-hammer shock valve is recommended to accompany the spring valve, in order to relieve the hydraulic surge, which may be caused by the sudden closure of the spring valve.
